Summer Research Internship Program

Research Internship Program 2010

July 5th - 30th, 2010

A. Program Overview
Osaka University Global Center of Excellence (GCOE), "Center for Electronic Devices Innovation" offers a four-week summer internship program for young researchers focusing on the topic in electronic devices, which will be held from July 5th through July 30th, 2010. The purpose of the program is to provide opportunities for young researchers and students to do researches on cutting-edge electronic devices studies in the GCOE.
B. Program contents
The program consists of a four-week research-intensive internship as a core period. You can extend the internship up to three months including the core period with the consent of faculty advisor from GCOE.
Program Information
  • �EThe research internship will be conducted at one of the laboratories in Osaka University to which
    you will be assigned based on your preference.
  • �EAt the end of the internship, you are required to participate in a poster session and/or make an oral
  • presentation at the Summer Internship Symposium as directed by faculty advisor from GCOE.

  • Participants are requested to:
  • –Conduct a hands-on research on cutting edge electronic devices through collaboration with other members in the assigned lab. Please refer to the following web site to find your interested laboratory:

  • –Develop inter-cultural skills through working experiences in Osaka University.
  • –Establish strong research networks to facilitate further study and international collaboration in the field of electronic devices.

C. Program expense
Internship fee is free.
We support the following expenses:
  • –Travel Expense(Economy air ticket)
  • –Accommodation near Osaka Univ.
  • –Trainee Stipends
D. Application procedure
We welcome applications of young researchers, such as, graduate students, post doctoral fellows and early career faculties. Participants are expected to actively involve in the research internship.
Documents for the application:
  • (i) Application Form
    Please download the file of Application Form, and fill it out.
  • (ii) Recommendation Letter
    Required if you are graduate students or post doctoral fellows.

Please submit the Excel (XLS) file of Application Form and the PDF file of Recommendation Letter to the GCOE office (office@gcoe.eei.eng.osaka-u.ac.jp). Please insert your last name in each document's file name (e.g. smith_application.xls, recommendation(smith).pdf). The deadline for the application is April 15th, 2010. All applications will be acknowledged by e-mail.

Selection:
Applications will be reviewed and selected by the committee in Osaka University GCOE program, in consideration of the research project's object. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance by the end of April.
