Dear Colleagues

It is a great pleasure to announce that the 1st international symposium of the global COE program will be held at Icho Kaikan, Osaka University, Suita, Osaka, Japan from January 21 to 22, 2008.
The symposium will focus on the research challenges in future electronic devices and provide an opportunity for scientists and engineers working in various fields of electronic devices. You are cordially invited to participate in the symposium.

Papers are solicited in, but not limited to the following area:
  1. Sensor devices
  2. Photonic devices
  3. Power devices
  4. New materials for electronic devices
  5. Characterization and analysis of electronic devices
  6. LSI implementation of electronic devices
  7. Other devices

Several invited talks on current and future prospects by leading researchers will be arranged by the organizing committee. The original contributions will be welcome. The authors are requested to submit a manuscript to the publication office prior to December 8, 2007.

Instructions for Preparing Manuscript

Deadline for paper submission is December 8, 2007. (Early submission is appreciated.)

Proceedings will be provided to the attendants at the start of the symposium.
No copyright is required.

The authors to attend the symposium are asked to submit the paper to the publication office as a pdf file. The manscript must be arrived at the office prior to December 8, 2007.
Please prepare it according to the Author's Instruction as given below.

Recommended length for the manuscript:

Invited Speaker: 2-6 pages
Other Presenters (Poster presentation): 2 pages
Leaders of IDER (Oral presentation): 2-4 pages (including the introduction of members)

A submission form (available here) should be completed and attached as a pdf file to the submission mail.

Student Travel Support:

Financial support for attending the symposium is available to some foreign students selected as oral speakers. The support must be requested when the paper is submitted by choosing this option in the submission form.

Student Paper Awards:

Papers presented by students will be considered for the Student Paper Awards. The award winners will be decided based on the paper and presentation.
