HISTORY

This meeting is part of a series that includes the International Seminar on High Energy Density Matter (Vancouver, 1996), the International Workshop on Warm Dense Matter in Vancouver (2000), the International Conference on Warm Dense Matter in Hamburg (2002), the International Workshop on Warm Dense Matter in Vancouver (2005) and the International Workshop on Warm Dense Matter in Porquerolles (2007).

THIS YEAR

The 2009 conference will be held at Hotel KOWAKIEN in the HAKONE in JAPAN.

The format of the meeting is three and half days of invited and contributed talks split between a morning and late afternoon session each day. A poster session will also be organized. The purpose of the workshop is to allow in-depth presentations and facilitate interactions betwen experimental and theoretical efforts in the warm dense matter area. Topics that will be covered include the calculation and measurement of the dynamical and optical properties of plasmas in the warm dense matter regime, experiments using Z-pinch, gas gun or laser facilities.
